The Origins

Founded in Italy in 1981 by Mr. Tonino Lamborghini, heir of the Lamborghini family, today the company’s headquarters are located in the magnificent Palazzo del Vignola, a Renaissance villa just outside Bologna’s city walls.

Mr. Lamborghini has taken inspiration from his family heritage and his vast experience in mechanical and automotive engineering to develop a lifestyle experience brand with a range of luxury design products, including: watches, eyewear, leather goods, smartphones, perfumes, furniture, clothing, sports accessories, golf&utility carts, signature beverages, 5-star boutique hotels, real estate projects, cafés and restaurants.

For 40 years, Tonino Lamborghini has been a byword for Made in Italy lifestyle. By staying true to the tradition and story of the Lamborghini family, the Tonino Lamborghini Company seeks to promote distinctive Italian style and taste.

The Vision

“In 1981, I started up my new Tonino Lamborghini Style and Accessories company. In the ‘90s I launched my first line of made in Italy delicacies to bring the Italian taste and way of life all over the world.
Still today, in every product I create there must not be missing a detail somehow related to the mechanical and engineering heritage of my family.”

Influenced by his family heritage and professional experiences within mechanical engineering and automotive design, Lamborghini created a Lifestyle Experience Brand that includes a wide range of luxury products. Lamborghini family’s heritage is the main source of inspiration for all the brand’s accessories that display stylistic details mainly dedicated to an audience that has a passion for the world of luxury sports cars. The brand-extension strategy implemented by the versatile entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini represents a unique model since its beginning and has become a case study analyzed by many universities, institutes and business schools. Today, it is normal for a brand or a label to develop a 360 degrees lifestyle concept, but Tonino Lamborghini has aimed to be different and original since its first steps: his eclecticism has led him to renovate and diversify his products while staying true to the brand’s origins and values.

The Founder

Entering the exceptional world of the Lamborghini family means encountering one of the most unique parts of the Italian history that has transformed the brand’s Italian style into a worldwide recognized symbol.

Tonino Lamborghini was born in Cento (Ferrara, Italy) in 1947 from a family who has become famous the world over in the mechanical and car sector. After a degree in Political Science and Economy at the University of Bologna and an honorary degree in Mechanic Engineering in Los Angeles, he was President of the Lamborghini Oleodinamica S.p.A. (1974-2002) and President of Lamborghini CALOR S.p.A. (1983-2003).
In 1981, he founded the “Tonino Lamborghini Style and Accessories” company, a lifestyle experience brand dedicated to for the creation of luxury accessories and design projects with the renowned ‘raging Bull’ brand. In 1998 he founded the TLR Srl – Golf Carts company and in 1998 the Town Life SpA – City Car.
In 1995 he was appointed as “Honored Commendatore” by the President of the Italian Republic Scalfaro and in 1996 “Senor Don Caballero de Merito con Placa de Plata” by His Royal Majesty Infante of Spain Carlo Borbone of the Sacred Military Constantine Order of Saint George.
In 2015, he was ordained Honorary Consul of Montenegro in the Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy. In 2018, he received the Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt – Honoris Causa) from the D Y Patil University of Navi, Mumbai, India.

About Us

“During the first part of the ‘80s I was assisting my father in his businesses under the Lamborghini Group, but I felt the need to take-on something that was entirely mine and different from the automotive world. I have always been passionate about fashion and accessories, which is why I invested the few resources I had to create my own entrepreneurial world. My strengths were my ideas, a driving will and a sense of bold cleverness. I truly admire the winning styles of Gucci and Hermès, which played an important role in the creation of my business and its products branded Tonino Lamborghini. Just like Hermès and Gucci have taken inspiration from iconic elements of the equestrian world, such as the stirrup or the horse bit, I was inspired by mechanics elements like bearings, connecting rod, wheel nut and suspensions”.

“My creative instinct is completely free and without limits. An idea can come to my mind in the middle of the night or during a visit at a museum or even during a fair…Eclecticism is part of who I am and it is clearly seen through the diversity of products in my brand’s portfolio and the various themes each collection displays. At the same time, they remain united by an uncompromised spirit, by a passion for all that is Italian and by a strong recall to my family’s heritage”.

The Future

In 2015, Tonino’s first son Ferruccio joined the company; he became in 2016 vice-president and in 2018 CEO. From his famous grandfather Ferruccio has inherited not only the name but also the passion for speed: he is a motorcycling champion in the Italian Speed Championship.
Born in 1991, Ferruccio Lamborghini is Tonino’s first son and, together with his four sisters, he belongs to the third generation of the Lamborghini family.

My grandfather and my father have been both admirable innovators in their related business fields. Today, as spokesperson of the Lamborghini family’s third generation, I am proud to add a new shape to the company started by my father, with a different and more international edge.
